How to change fixed path?

I have been given a database on a CD to do some work on. The only
problem is that when I open a form it tells me that the file path
//server/database/mydb.mdb is not valid. Of course it isn't valid the
whole thing is on my comp at the moment and not even on a network.

How can I change this path so that I can work on the database locally
and change it back when I put the changes back?

Thank you for any help.

Denis,

Open the frontend to the database window and go to Tables. Go to Tools -
Add-Ins(Access97 and 2000) or Tools - Database Utilities(Acces sXP) and find the
Linked Table Manager. Select all the tables and check "Always Prompt For New
Location". The wizard will hen allow you to pick the location of the backend
which contais the tables.

I have created a network share \\fileserver2\share that I want these users to start using. It is the same data as above just on a different, newer server. I need a script that will look for a mapped network drive ( again unknown letter ) that has a UNC path of \\fileserver1\share and will...

I have a reportviewer control. I programmatically set the local report path based on a drop down on a page. This allows the user to choose which format (RDLC file) to use when generating the report. The first request, the report processes properly, however if I choose a different report format, the old report still renders. I'm doing a .refresh for the report... I tried turning off Viewstate for the report, but it says that...

Hello everyone, I am using Access 2003. In my database there is a table which is linked to an excel spreadsheet. When I move the mdb file to someone else's computer the spreadsheet will be in a different location. A location which I can not access from my own PC when designing the database, so can not use the Linked Table Manager to update the link. I need to find a way of telling the database where the source spreadsheet for the...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
