I don't know if this has anything to do with AccessXP running on Terminal
Services with Access97/2000 also installed, but here is one example of a
query that does not work any longer:
SELECT DLookUp("MajorCategory","AutoTypes","='1'") AS
MajorCategory, PreOwned.PaintColor
FROM PreOwned;
When I try to run the above query I get the following error:

Hi,
I have struck problems when trying to convert an Access97 database to
Access 2000.
I get a compile Error when I start the database in Access 2000.. The
message is Can't find project or library. In the procedures it
highlights the Error$ statement and in functions it highlights Left$ and
Mid$

I have Access 2000 installed on a machine and I create the MDE just fine.
When I copy the MDE file over to another machine that has Access 2000
installed, the references are hosed and I get unable to find function error.
There are no third party controls in the application.
This target machine is on a network requiring domain login, but the user is
set up as a Local Administrator.
Any ideas or code that I can use to work arount this...

Hi Gurus
I have recently discovered references in the VB section of MS Access,
however, when choosing references, I noticed that there are more than who
knows how many options. How and/or where do you i get more information on
all the references available? Are there any that I should be using / should
be avoiding (I know about the DAO stuff)?
Keen to hear any suggestions.

Hi everyone,
I consider myself a very competent programmer when it comes to actual
programming and analyzing the business that I'm modelling. I am now
crossing into what I would consider Access admin/config territory, an
area
where I generally suck at.
Here is my problem. I do all my programming on my laptop before

Hello good folks!
It is WAY past time for me to figure out how to check for the
existence of all referenced libraries on application startup and
provide feedback to the user if they are not.
Do any of fine folks have a link to some sample VBA code that will do
this? The big issue, I believe, is how to make such a procedure
sensitive the various storage locations for the referenced DLLs on
various versions of Access -- 2000, 2002 and...

Most people tell me I only need 3 references. It seems
that many of my problems are related to references. I
don't know what a reference is, quite frankly. I wish
that, instead of about 200 references in the list, there
were only those three I need. Many questions come to
mind:
1) How do the references make their way into the list?
2) Must the 197 references in A97 that are unused be
deleted? Or must they remain in the list.

I want to find out all dll's a process have. I've found example code on
the page http://www.freevbcode.com/ShowCode.asp?ID=295
The problem is, the sample is written in vb6, but Application is written
in vb.NET.
I've rewritten the code for vb.net, but if I run the application, there
is following runtime error message
System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance
of an object.

I'm running Access 2003, modifying a query that has over 45 fields. When I
right click on the field name in Query Design View, and then click Build,
Access crashes before the Build window appears. It doesn't happen every time,
and using the Zoom window works fine. It appears that it only happens when I
want to modify an existing expression. This continues to happen even after
the database is repaired and reopened. Anyone have any...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
