Query displays

I discovered a weird behaviour regarding a query and a combobox based on
that query.

3 tables:

Food:
Food_ID number (autonumber - primary key)
Number number
Fruit_ID combobox

1, 100, Banana
2, 75, Apple
...

Fruit:
Fruit_ID number (autonumber - primary key)
Name text
Color_ID combobox

1, Banana, yellow
2, Apple, green
...

Color:
Color_ID number (autonumber - primary key)
Color text

1, yellow
2, green
3, brown

The combobox of Food: has an underlying query (3 columns).

Fruit_ID.Food (0 cm width)
Name.Fruit (5 cm width)
Color_ID.Fruit (2 cm width)

Now comes the interesting part; when I run the query, I get ...

1, Banana, yellow
2, Apple, green
...

However when I select the pop-up button on the right side of the
combobox of Food:, I get:

1, Banana, 1
2, Apple, 2

The Color_ID is not resolved for the combobox, while it is for the query.

How can I change this behaviour in order to make the Color appear as
well in the combobox instead of the Color_ID?

TIA

Hi, Having a table with some duplicate ID's (different data tho), how can I return the list but with only one record from each ID? Would this be using the first() function and grouping? Also, how would I choose which would be the first to be picked? If I did an order by xx, would this alter the results, or is the first record picked...

First, I should start by saying I am creating a database to be used by some very impatient, non-computer literate people. It needs to be seameless in it's operation from their point of view. I want them to do as little as possible when they run their reports. I have a crosstab query that displays usage of items for each month. It looks...

These are Column1 (DOB), column2 (a concatenated string of Surname Forname, Title), Column3 (Surname), column4 (Forename) and column5 (title). Columns 3,4 and 5 are not shown in the list box only the first two. DOB Name: &" "&&", "&

Hi Everyone- I have a question about how to add and then use the "All" selection in a combo box. I am trying to figure out how to: (1) add "All" as a selection to a combo box and then (2) how to use the selection "All" as criteria for a field in a query, which is used to generate data for a report.

My problem: I'm having trouble with a query taking much too long to run; a query without any criteria evaluating only 650 records takes over 300 seconds to run (over the network. On local drive takes 120 seconds). The Setup: I'm running Access 97 non-developer edition. I have exactly zero other tools to use and no way to change that =(. ...

Hello all, I have a report that is based on a crosstab query. One of the fields in the crosstab query is based on a query. It is a coded value. When I look at the crosstab query it displays the value. But when I look at the report I get the coded value. For example, in the table it is; 1 apple 2 orange 3 banana

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows.
