Placing an image with transparency on a form, posible?

I am trying to place a company logo on a form but try as I will I can
not get the transparent parts to stay transparent.
Is this even possible? If so what file format does my picture need to
be in..... have found that the TIFF format seems to maintain better
quality over GIF or JPG on the small type and line art.
Any secrets or advise most appreciated.
Thank you

For what it is worth...... It don't work! I follow your instructions
to the letter but end up with "totally" transparent image. Then when I
go to save, exit or delete the image an error message regarding my
OLE SERVER...... It is evidently not working correctly...... .. Damn, I
didn't even know I had one.
Looked in MS help on OLE SERVERS and where they say to look I have
nothing. From the help file:

To see a complete list of OLE DB providers installed on your computer,
display the Data Link Properties dialog box from a Data Link file, and
then click the Provider tab.

When you or other users display a page using Microsoft Internet
Explorer 5 or later and you have a Microsoft Office XP license on your
computer, if necessary, the browser automatically downloads the
necessary OLE DB providers and other related files by installing
Microsoft Office Web Components.
So..... not having (or thinking I don't have) said DataLink file to
check the properties of I will have to rethink how seriously I want a
transparent logo......<G>

Did the repair Office routine with no improvement.... If this is a 2K
thing I may transfer my form to a A97 machine and add the image
there..... kind of convoluted

There may be something fundamentally wrong with my installation, I can
not OLE from any program or can I on a tot tally separate system that
has Office97 on it..... Maybe a setup thing I did not think I needed??
Using your Transparent.mdb I can make a EMF file that subsequently
when imported into Word >Insert> File shows to be transparent in the
pick dialog box albeit with "some" pixels of white around some type.
Copy > Paste inserts a white box.........

AND while tracing my steps noticed that I was NOT doing the "Change To Image and "then" changing to transparent..

So.... Your quick fix works...... if you follow ALL the steps. There
are still some white pixels around the image...... I will play with
this some more now that I know that "essentiall y" it works

Thanks again

Ralph the three options I gave you are seperate solutions and mutually
exclusive, they are not to be followed as steps.
Try my Transparent.MDB and read the instructions.

Good luck.

Hi! I'm designing a clipart manager. It stores TIFF file since the clipart are isolated object (transparent background). The problem is that when I drag the TIFF from my application onto Corel Designer, the transparency is replaced by a bright blue backgroud, but when I drag the same image from windows explorer, it keeps the transparency... Anyone can Help me with this?? Thank you, you're help is greatly appreciated! Jean Christophe Avard

I am making an application that streams video from a web camera onto the client area of a PictureBox on a Windows CLR Form in MS Visual Studio 2005 (using C++). Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
