hello all,
i have a problem in my pc.
whenever i use the command prompt, it shows one message of
'Your PC will be shut down in 50:00 mins, please save all the files and so on'.
is this the virus and how can it be removed.
in run command, when i type
'shutdown -a' and enter, then it is removed,
but i want to remove it permanently and command prompt can be also used.

HELLO,
Some worms, such as the Blaster worm, use known bugs in Microsoft Operating Systems to force the computer to shut down itself.
Due to reason that many viruses cause computer to shutdown this way, one cannot manually remove the malicious file until we know which malicious file it is.

Best Practice: In order to protect yourself from such worms and malicious code you should first make sure that your computer is fully patched. Make sure your Windows is updated with latest Service packs and updates from Microsoft.
Then, make sure you're using either the built-in Internet Connection Firewall (found in Windows XP and Windows Server 2003). Last but not least, you should make sure you're running a good and trustworthy Anti-Virus program that's fully updated (you can try Avast FREE Home edition. Avast is a good Antivirus. Search google to download Avast 4.8 as 4.8 is the latest version).

Run Avast Antivirus scan (it has an option for boot time scan while user is installing it. Select that option so that an Antivirus scan will run before windows OS boots completely).
Even if avast may detect and delete the malicious file, still there are chances that your problem (shutdown in 50 minutes) may remain unsolved as the virus might have modified system settings (which probably cannot be undo by avast).

If shutdown at startup problem remains unsolved after running Antivirus scan, then tell me. I'm looking for a solution to disable your problem and I will inform you if I find something.

HOPE THIS HELPS...........
