I have a question about dr dos 7.03

hello everyone ,
I am having a problem with my dos commands when i try to go to dos directory example cd dos it says acess denied can anyone help me i am really stuck . I am running dr dos 7.03

i am having a little bit of a problem with my dos program , now what is happening is i am first giving the command cd\ to go to c: then i was trying to go to my dos root by the command cd dos and heres the thing it says access denied.
Is something to do with the boot disc i am using or what i have no idea please can someone help me ?

what OS are u using? XP or vista?
