Using Cmd or Command Prompt

Hi all

I am on a network and I am trying to do a sofrware auditing so I need to know every single software on every workstation, I know there is cammand using cammand promt but I forgot it. So can any one help me to store these information in txt files for each user his own infos in a file having his name and to store these file in a specific path.

The best that I can do is point you to the XP Command-line reference A-Z. Assuming that you are on XP (you have not stated your OS).

yo man, we use visionsoft audit pro in work! really good, you set a task to run overnight, come in in the morning, theres your data! your way sounds a bit far fetched and to be honest, im not even sure if you can do it though command prompt!

I used to use this command from cammand prompt but I orgot the command and BTW how can get this software? is it free?

you get a free 6 to 8 weeks, other than that you have to pay, going back about 18months now, and if memory serves me, it is not the most expensive. you install it on a domain server, nothing too complex, just on an ip address that is allowed to all regions that you wish to scan. you import which aspects of your ou you wish to scan in active directory, and wala, away it goes. very simple setup too, next, next finish kind of stuff. having said that, a lightbulb popped up when i went away and had a think bout this... could you not incoporate something into a script or sufin? might save you a few bob :) plus practice your scripting skills :p

I use MSIA or the Microsoft Software Inventory Analyzer, it is free and you can get it at this link
