I have created a three tier application consisting of Client (Exe and
Exe.Config), Middle (WebServices) and Database tiers. The Client tier
contains an Exe, an Exe.Config and a dynamic Web reference. The Exe reads a
key-value pair from the Exe.Config file, which is a link to the appropriate
WebService that it should connect to, and sets the dynamic Web reference’s
URL. If the Exe.Config file does not contain the key-value or if the...

Hi all...
Well my earlier post aboout not being able to access http://localhost has
been resolved. I am still having problems testing my Web site project.
First, thanks to Juan Libre I edited my HOSTS file and can access
localhost. However, what I found in the HOSTS file was not what I expected.
Juan mentioned that the following line might be missing.
127.0.0.1 localhost

Even though I had my roots and highlights redone just a few days ago, I
don't understand why I appear to be having an ongoing blond moment.
Is it just me or do others among you not 'get' how to make C# and VB.Net

I have read and reread everything I can find on UAC, 'strong-naming' of
assemblies, 'authenticode signing' of assemblies and, even though I'm not

I created a setup program in VS2005 ide. It installs my app on 98-Vista. I
have tried this with the Click once check box checked(full trust) and not
checked does not seem to matter.
Anyway, the setup works fine. But in Vista, the program icon on the desktop
and the start menu run the app fine if logged in as the primary admin, but if
logged in as anyone else, even with admin privlages, the icons/startup menu
item seems to try to run the...

I have a Vb.Net 2005 application that consists of a main application and a

on startup and it installs fine under XP. When I run the same installer on a
Vista system, the program that runs on startup doesn't work I get the...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
