As well known I could specify the text color in the body tag like:
<BODY TEXT=WHITE LINK=WHITE VLINK=RED ALINK=WHITE>
What I want to achieve now is that always (!) the text of the last visited link and
the text of the link under the cursor are red. All other links should be white.
The problem with the construction above is that a visited link remains for the rest of
the session red regardless wether it was visited 17 clicks back in...

My organization is developing a set of "standards" for websites built
inhouse. The first question that comes to mind is what would be a good
standard default size for <p> text? 12 point? Which begs the
question, what unit of measurement should we use for specifying font
sizes, points or ems?
Thanks.

Visual Studio provides an icon editor but I can't figure out how to create a
transparent icon. My app always shows the full 32x32 square, with a wide
background instead of a transparent one. How do I get it to look
transparent?

Hello there,
I'm having some problems setting the TextBox.Text Property in my code and
having it returned to the client in the source when the
TextBox.TextMode="Password".
I know this is generally not a good idea to fill it with the actual password
but I would like to put '*'s in it as place holders just so it looks like
the password is actually typed out in there.
Thanks,

In my Calendar1_DayRender event I'm setting the e.cell.text property equal
to a db value. But, the day cell loses it's "clickability" as well as the
day #, like the other non-modified day/cells have. How do I preserve this?

I want to specify a custom color for disabled text that is used by a class
that inherits from ToolStripProfessionalRenderer. The code would look
something like this:
Public Class MyRenderer
Inherits Windows.Forms.ToolStripProfessionalRenderer
Protected Overrides Sub OnRenderItemText(ByVal e As
System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripItemTextRenderEventArgs)
If (Not e.Item.Enabled) Then
e.TextColor = Color.Red

Sorry if this sounds like a dumbass newbie question. I'm getting crazy or something, but somehow I can't get this simple thing to work:
1. In general, how do I center text and/or images vertically?
2. How would I do a top bar with a logo on the left, and an icon + text + combobox (small form with one select item) on the right, all vertically centered to eachother?
Like this:

And with "how", I mean:...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
