Hello
I installed MySQL ver 4.0.20d on a Windows XP Professional PC. I created a
user and database that I would like to delete, and at this point I would
just like to uninstall MySQL and do a fresh installation.
I have deleted MySQL by going to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add or
Remove Programs. However, when I reinstall MySQL, the previous user and
database are restored, too. How does one do a complete removal of MySQL so...

I'm trying to overcome the pop-up warning issued by Outlook Express
when an Access application uses SendObject to mail an attachment
(report object converted to an rtf file) to a specified recipient. I
regret to give up all the security features of Q330994, but it seems
that I have no choice. Like pork barrel politics, there are things I
want and things I don't want in the patch. Any past experiences
- please share them.
Here are some...

I am trying to write a Windows Service in C# .NET Version 1.1.
I followed Microsoft's directions:
to the letter and everything worked fine.
Then I went into Windows Explorer and changed the name of my files to
what I really want....

Hi There!
I'm creating my website with ASP.NET + XHTML, which means I will strictly
adhere the XHTML standards for my web page output.
I use Panel or PlaceHolder WebControls to place dynamically created
<div></div> contents to my web pages.
But the problem arises when because Panel and PlaceHolder WebControls do
extra work with <span> tags as follows...

A while ago I installed Net 2.0 to our Server 2003 web machine, but the
Control Panel folder icon for configuring Net 2.0 never made it to the
Control Panel folder. Thinking this might indicate a botched install, I
used the install.exe found in 2.0's "Microsoft .net framework 2.0"
directory to repair the install. No change I can see.
I can find the application exe whose icon is missing from control panel
easily enough, but I wonder...

Hi All,
I have written a small app in VS2005 called "coop" and now want to
deploy to numerous machines. I have created a Setup project called
"Setup" within the same solution, which works fine apart from one
problem; When I look in Control Panel Add/Remove Programs my app
appears in the list as "Setup coop" - is it possible to change the
name that appears in Add/Remove Programs to make it more relevant to
my customers?

Hi.
I have written a .NET C# program and have also made a setup project for it.
Everything works fine, except that I would like my setup application to
remove any existing version of my program before proceeding with the setup.
This is because I get the following message if there is a previous version of
my program installed:
'Another version of this product is already installed. Installation of this
version cannot continue. To...

When I install my application built using VS2008 C#, the application size is
reported incorrectly. The application is actually 40 Meg in size. When you
click on "Add Remove Programs" from the Control Panel my application appears
in the list of installed programs but the size incorrectly is reported as
2.9 Gig. Where does Windows get the information on the application size and
how do I get it to return the correct size?
Thanks

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Adolph will...
