I have run a home network for a long time using XP. Last week, I changed out 2 of the 3 machines to Vista. When I set up the network, as I had with XP, I have had nothing but problems.
I can not access vista #1 from vista #2, Even though I did make sure to share the entire drive, I can not even access the public folder.
Vista 1 can not see xp #3
Vista 2 can not access Vista 1 Again, entire drive was shared. I can get to the public...

i have adsl modem hooked to my vista machine via usb and out of that machine to a hub and from there to another pc running xp ...everything worked great before i installed vista on the first machine . everything still works except when i get online with the xp machine after surfing for a minute it always reboots my adsl modem .. i can transfer files fine even download but the xp machine reboots modem everytime .

Hi, I'm having a network problem I'm hoping I can resolve (and a few questions.)
Currently I have a desktop with XP Pro on it. I just purchased a laptop with Vista, and wanted to network it with the desktop. For some reason, the desktop can locate and access the laptop, but the laptop cannot locate or even see the desktop. Hello,
I am having problems with vista computers. They can' t take IP address automatically but they often work if IP is given manually. I tried many tips i found on the net, including disabling power options of the NT cards, disabling IP6 n the like. Their DHCP Client service works fine and well, everything seems to work. How can i make Vista computers accept IP address auto from a 2003 server? All other windows work fine.

In my network there are one XP-desktop, one VISTA desktop and one VISTA notebook.
Whereas the XP-desktop and the VISTA desktop recognize each other, the VISTA notebook does not recognize the other computers (and is not recognized by the other two computers); as a matter of fact it does not even "see" the own computer except for the shared media.
