Using a pc and a fax machine to send faxes???

17 New Member
I've heard that it is possible to send a fax from your pc via a regular fax machine. Is it true? How would that work though?
Just wondering.

Wondering as well, i know XP comes with an option to use a pc to send faxes, i have used it before, but that was with "dial up." Can this be done using "DSL?"

If the Fax machine has a computer interface, a driver for it might be available. Such a thing would be brand/model specific if it exists.

Printers and Faxes on your Control Panel Will ask for your installation (XP) disk if you skipped Fax software install in the original installation. I've never used it (that's how I know the above) but it ought to be straight forward. From the software's point of view, a connection is a connection, no matter what the underlying technology is.

I am currently in the process of building a vb.net windows application that will be used to send faxes and monitor these faxes as they are sent. In the project I am building the fax functionality into a single web form in order to encapsulate this functionality. The error I am receiving has brought me to the point of starting a brand new project with just the web-form for faxing. I am using code provided by Microsoft:...

I am a little problem deciding when to use delegates and when not to. Is the following a good example? I have an order class and a messenger class (this does things like send emails, pages, faxes). Currently we create the order and in the creation function, we call other functions in sequence that do things that are not order specific (other things may send emails besides the order being created). Would it be better to create a delegate...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
