Please do not double (or triple) post. I have deleted your other threads, and I believe you will get the most help in the Windows forum, (that or the VB forum), but this is the place to start, and the mod here can move it if they feel it is necessary. In the meantime, please have a look at the Posting Guidelines (which ask you not to do things like triple-post), and I would recommend Googling "windows scripting" or "win32 api" with some reference to the password complexity in the search as well.

Thanks!

Thanks for your reply. Actually I was not knowing where I have to post my query and the solution was very urgent for me and hence posted in 3 different areas.
I have searched the google with all the ways mentioned. But there are methods for all the other properties but I could not find the methods or scripts for this property. Specially oue machine is not in domain it is local computer.
Hence if any body has a solution please do reply.

Thanks

I have ODBC linked tables to a SQL 7 database in an A2K database. The linked tables do not have the password stored in them, so the first time the user accesses them, they need to enter the SQL password. I am developing a process that will automatically run at night which will access those tables. I need to be able to give Access the password, as the user currently does, so that the process can run without a password prompt appearing....

Hi How do I control the password complexity for users registering themselves in a webapp using Membership? From http://beta.asp.net/QUICKSTART/aspnet/doc/security/membership.aspx "Note that by default, the Membership feature requires passwords to be at least seven characters long, and the password must contain at least one non-alphanumeric character."

Hello all, I'm writing a program that interacts with databases. I want that when the users run this program, they can view the data as much as they want. But if they make any changes to the data and then attempt to update it, the program will ask for a password. My question is, how can I go about doing this? I can create a string variable and set it to something for the password, and then check the user's input against this password value,...

I have a code for enabling a command button to password protect the enabling/disabling of the Shift bypass. For some reason though I keep recieving a syntax error when I try to use it. I copied the code from the following link: http://www.databasedev.co.uk/disable_shift_bypass.html It seems to have a problem with the part that reads: MsgBox "The Bypass Key has been enabled." & vbCrLf & vbLf & _ "The Shift key will allow the users to bypass...

Does anyone know how to add a reference to an access database (db2) programmatically to a main database (db1) if the library database (db2) has a database password, please? Using References.AddFromFile has only one argument, i.e. the location of the database being added and does not seem to allow for a database password in the database being added as a library (db2). If this is tried, it prompts for the password and, if you enter that...

If I could give an advice on your method, in fact, what I would do.. is : Generate a password with your lower security set of characters. Then upper case randomizally some letters and finally inserts special chars at randomized positions. I don't know if you like the proposition, but it can help. Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
