Recover mailboxes from MDBDATA folder

Hi All

I'm using exchange server 2003 sp2, on windows server 2003 sp1. I had backed up the MDBDATA folder. Is it possible to restore all the previous mailboxes from MDBDATA folder, as it contains priv1.edb , priv1.stm and all other log files with E000*.log files

I would make a copy of the entire folder onto a DVD and try copying and pasting the folder into the new server, but please backup before you do so. What I would greatly suggest to you for future is to use tape backup as well as hard drive backup so that you always stay ahead of the problems.

The exchange store folder can be moved and can be restored, I would consult Microsoft on this issue. If you are planing on doing this make sure to do it on a weekend or a time when nobody is using the server and I would first try it in a test server, but don't forget to backup the data on the DVD so that its there in its original form. Good Luck as I had a similar dilema not too long ago. Also make sure that the new server has the same organization name or it won't mount.

Let me know if you need more help, Cyberdyne

What headers to I have to know about to build thread trees from Unix mailboxes? Is it enough to get the In-Reply-To header for each message and build a dictionary of { Message-ID: message } pairs? Or is it more complicated than that? If there isn't already a module to do this (and apologies if there is one and I don't know about it), are the current tools of choice the 'email' and 'mailbox' modules? (And I guess I'd want to use the...

I've been searching around for the equivalent to the mailbox module except with the capability of writing messages as well as reading. If it makes it easier, I only need to write to maildir mailboxes. I found a reference to http://pythonms.sf.net/ Python mail system) but it seems to have vanished. Any suggestions? ---eric

Hi All, I need to create a daemon that sits on a server and forwards some e-mails. (Well not only that, it needs to change header information before forwarding and also insert messages into a database). The mailbox module is fine but I do not see a way to delete/add messages - it is ready only. The other possiblity is IMAP4 but it is bad because my program should not store passwords for all users. I can only see one solution right now:

Problem: Mozilla mailbox is way to big (800MBs). Solution: Split it up. #!/usr/bin/perl ############ # Splits Mozilla style Inboxes into smaller ones (max size = maxMailboxSize) # use: ./splitMozilla <mailbox name> # output: mailbox0 ... ############

I've got a disk that had the data files for my mysql server on it. From these files can I rebuild the database? I didn't do backups or anything like that, but I have the whole file system. What I was looking to do was reinstall mysql and then somehow import those files to recreate the database, is this possible? Thanks, Fenton

I come from Oracle background. In Oracle, when one wants to do a point in time recovery, one can specify recover database until timestmap. Oracle's database maps to a db2 subsystem, i.e., in Oracle database means entire database, i.e.. all tablespaces (including indexes). I see only recover tablespace and recover indexspace (or index) commands in db2. Therefore, one has to specify all the tablespaces and indexspaces and recover them

I currently have an application that can monitor the Inbox of one mailbox running on a client using Outlook 2003. This is a standalone application that needs Outlook to be running in order to see all mail coming into the e-mail box. This is using Interop.Outlook Example of code... Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
