I suggest installing service pack 4 for windows 2000 pro or if you can't run the install then you will have you manually copy the missing dll file from your installation cd into the c:\winnt\system 32

there are plenty of online sites that offer a free copy of this files just search for it on google.

Good Luck and lets us know how it turns out.

I'm working with Windows 2000 and Windows 2000 Server in a cmd window. When I invoke a python script without 'python' prefixed on the command line whose name does not obey the DOS 8.3 syntax the name is mangled under Windows 2000 but not under Windows 2000 Server in an error trace. Why? How can I receive an unmangled name under Windows 2000 without using 'python <scriptname>'? I need it for a later import statement. Thanks

I have a need to become familiar with SQL Server 2000 for work. Needless to say I am new to SQL Server any version, but not IT in general. My employer has provided me with the SQL Server 2000 Personal disk from the SQL Server 2000 Enterprise kit as this is reported here on the MSDN web site to be the version that is supported on Windows XP. In fact so many of you kind people confess to having succeeded in doing it. I have tried...

I posted this under 'microsoft.public.sqlserver.client' but got no reply. Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated --------------------- I developed a database under SQL Server 2000, with Access 2000 on Windows 2000 as client. This had been running fine for several years. The client is now upgrading to Windows XP, and has come across a display problem on the reports. The figures are correct but are now displayed with lots of...

Hi all, I have a Windows 2003 server, which is also a terminal server for application, with sql 2000 installed. My company has developed an application that uses SQL 2000 as its database. The application is a client/server one. In each client computer there's a link to the application on the server. There is no problem with Windows 98, Windows 2000 pro, Windows xp pro clients, but the windows 95 ones cannot log in to the database. The...

I have developed a VB.net application that transfers a SOAP wrapped message to another server securely(using SSL and sever/client certificates). When I run this app from a Windows 2000 Professional box everything works as expected, the secure channel is established and the message is sent properly. When I use the exact same app on the Windows 2000 Server(running IIS) box the app does not work properly. I have used a packet sniffer to...

Hi, Currently I am working on a Visual Basic program that makes use of an Access database produced under Japanese Access '97. The program works correctly on Windows 2000, however when it is used under English XP, Visual Basic reports the error "Could not find file" when it tries to open the database. I have tried converting the database to Access 2000, however this now

Please bear with me, as I am a newbie in the world of databases and DB2. We are trying to migrate an application that binds to a DB2 database (Workgroup Edition, V6.1) from a server running Windows NT 4.0, to a new server running Windows 2000. Since DB2 V6.1 is no longer supported by IBM, I cannot even find anything to tell me if V6.1 is compatible with Windows 2000. Also, the new server will be running two hyperthreading processors vs,...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
