First of all sorry for the cross-posting but I am not sure wether this
belongs under internationalization or just general.
Environment:
Visual Studio .NET 2003
Problem:
Newly added and renamed resource files are not automatically linked to the
object they belong by the IDE

Several attributes and interface methods I'm using refer to resources (such
as strings or icons) by a numeric ID. This was the only way to refer to
resources in unmanaged code (C++, for example), but I'm writing in C# now,
and it seems that resources are named with string identifiers.
Visual Studio doesn't seem to like resource names such...

Hi,
I am trying to set up my C# web project to be compiled by NANT.
Everything compiles and works fine within the IDE. I have a created a
NANT build file which has a simple project tag, like this:
<?xml version="1.0" ?>
<project name="MyProject" default="build" basedir=".">

Assembly asm = Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly();
me = new Bitmap(asm.GetManifestResourceStream("me.gif"));
I have used this before without any problem, but now I get:
An unhandled exception of type 'System.ArgumentException' occurred in
system.drawing.dll
Additional information: 'null' is not a valid value for 'stream'.

Is there any way to add an embedded resource to a project without copying it
to the project's directory? I have shared resources and don't want each
project using the images, xml files, etc. to need to be updated with the
current copy before being built. I also don't want projects being built with
the old copy.
Thanks!

Hi there, I have a couple of bitmaps that are called in my project that I
need to use. They were added to my solution as existing objects and are
located in the same folder as the rest of the vb files.
I set their Build Action to Embedded Resource and compiled without any
errors, however, when calling them, like this inside Initialize...

Hi All,
I have created a folder call Resource within my project, I have added a XML
file into the resource folder, and I set the BuildAction property of the XML
file to "Embedded Resource". How can I retrieve its content in the runtime?
Any help is deeply appreciated. Thanks you very much in advance.

I'm looking at adding scheduling features to an application and I
wanted to ask the community about any experience with scheduling
components, either open source like from code project or from a vendor.
I'd like to be able to create schedules and lock resources for things
like collision detection (two events trying to use the same...

I have a situation, where I need to add 4 or 5 data files (they change
every time I build) in my project during build time and somehow I need
a way to access these files during runtime.
So I have 2 questions
1. Is it possible to identify all the files in the resource file
during runtime by name of the file?
2. Is it possible to add files to...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...
