A particular form - always the same - sometimes becomes corrupt after
saving.
Error msg =
The expression On Open you entered as the event property settings produced
the following error:
A problem occurred while 'DB-name' was communicating with the ole server or
ActiveX controle.
The form has a calendar-controle.
I have eliminated the code in the OnOpen-event but the form stays corrupt!

Is there any way to add an embedded resource to a project without copying it
to the project's directory? I have shared resources and don't want each
project using the images, xml files, etc. to need to be updated with the
current copy before being built. I also don't want projects being built with
the old copy.
Thanks!

Hello, I have a Windows Application that needs to load multiple image files
in response to users clicking buttons. Currently, I just have these images
as .jpg files on disk, but I don't want to have to migrate the files
everywhere that the executable is installed. Is there a way to add them to a
Visual Studio solution/project so that they are embedded in the application
somehow? If so, how do I access the images when needed?
Thanks,...

First of all sorry for the cross-posting but I am not sure wether this
belongs under internationalization or just general.
Environment:
Visual Studio .NET 2003
Problem:
Newly added and renamed resource files are not automatically linked to the
object they belong by the IDE

Hey All,
I am building a solution which will have many strings that will need to be
localized (i.e. strings for toolbars, strings for different WinForms,
strings for messages and error messages, etc.).
I am having trouble accessing string file resources.
What I want to do is to break out strings into separate files so that they
are easier to manage and such that I don't have to look through hundreds to

I am resurrecting this question (since it got bumped down by more
recent posts).
This is probably very simple - I need to add a version resource to a
DLL project in MSVC++ 2005 Express in order to have version info,
copyright, etc. when checking the DLL file properties from Windows
Explorer.
Any guidance is appreciated.

I have a situation, where I need to add 4 or 5 data files (they change
every time I build) in my project during build time and somehow I need
a way to access these files during runtime.
So I have 2 questions
1. Is it possible to identify all the files in the resource file
during runtime by name of the file?
2. Is it possible to add files to a project at build time to make an
exe with those files?
Thanks.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
