Microsoft states that the following dll sys. files must be included in a setup package:
olepro, oleauto32,asycfit,stdole2,msvbvm60. I am aware of the errors that occur when trying to install new versions of system files on win 2000, xp - owing to the file protection protocols. infact, you don't even need to include any system files on most new operating systems when distributing a setup package though microsoft states that you do. They recommend using older versions (pre-2000) of these files and claim that if you have downloaded sp4-6, these handy older versions will magically appear in your redist folder. They did not appear in my particular redist folder when I downloaded sp6 however and was wondering if anyone knew where to obtain them. I guess the reason you should include them is that because they are older, newer versions of windows will allow them to be installed. When your program runs it will call the newer version, if the system has it and if it doesn't have it it can revert to the handy old one - so where the hell are they?
