Hello, all. I found a bit of code that lets me read an Excel file from and to a specifi range. See the code below. But what if I only want to specify the STARTING position and simply want it to continue reading down the column until it hits an empty cell? Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks! Here is the range-only code:

Hello, I've got a problem with access to special ranges. I renamed some cells (for example "C4" in "CUSTOM.GENERAL.VPRIM"). This is necessary, because I have to read out only these cells in active worksheet. The method get_range("RangeName", Missing.Value) is ok as far as I have an existing RangeName. My program compares the root of a customized XML file with the range of an Excel file. But some root names don't exist in the Excel...

I want to place information from an active Excel spreadsheet to a VB.net form. I just want to place numbers from an Excel cell in a standard VB.net text box. Does anyone have sample code to demonstrate this process? I have tried coding the process myself without success. I have just purchased a 2003 version of VB.net and I am not sure if it is me or changes in the program. I would like a working example to check my setup. Thanks,

Greetings all, What is the best way to access specific records in an Excel file? I have an Excel file, I want to randomly and repeatedly (maybe around up to 50 times) draw some rows of data from this Excel file and store them in a struct/class for further processing. (mostly just display the info in graphical format) This is not some sort of database application, but rather I am

All I'm currently attempting to move us from a spreadsheet based system to a database system. The first phase is to import the data on a regular basis from the spreadsheets to get the database working the way we need it to prior to switching users over to it. Each team has a workbook, each workbook contains multiple worksheets, only some of the sheets contain the ranges that I want to import.

Hi, I have an Order tracking spreadsheet that I need help with. I have a 2 worksheets "Open", and "Closed". I have entries on the "Open" sheet which may or may not be grouped together. I've called the rows :Parents and Children. There are basically 3 types of rows. Parents with Children, Parents without Children, and Children. This is probably answered elsewhere, but I've searched the Web and VBA for Excel manual, find no answers. I have a VBA-coded macro in an Excel workbook that is to open another existing workbook -- a .xls file, not .csv -- copy data from it, paste that into the original workbook where the macro resides, then close the source workbook. If I use the debugger to step through the macro -- putting a breakpoint at its first executable line, run...

Hi, I have created an excel program which creates 65 or more (nneds to be unlimited) customised letters for clients. The macro uses VLOOKUP to change the details within the letter and copies / moves the work sheet to another "template file" which contains printing macros etc. Each new worksheet is subsequently renamed to the Client ID reference. The program is meant to do all applicable clients letters and then saves the template...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
