I have a very puzzling situation with a database. It's an Access 2000 mdb
with a SQL 7 back end, with forms bound using ODBC linked tables. At our
remote location (accessed via a T1 line) the time it took to go to a record
was very slow. The go to mechanism was a box that the user typed the index
value into a combo box, with very simple code attached:
with me.RecordsetClone
.FindFirst " = " & me.cboGoTo
If Not .NoMatch Then
Me.Bookmark...

Hi All,
* PREMISE *
I'm creating an Access form with 150 items subdivided into 20
categories. Multiple categories (and items) can be selected so my
user wants checkboxes. All of the options need to be visible at the
same time so no dropdowns (combo boxes) and no scrolling lists (list
boxes). I will use tabbed sheets with logically grouped categories
(and their respective items).

My husband and I own a small temporary labor company and deal with 4
major clients (A,B,C & D), each of which has about 2 dozen units in
our tristate area that we deal with (ie, Company A, units a,b,c,d,e
etc). We send temps possessing various skills (cashier, cook,
hostess, etc) to the individual units as needed. What I'm trying to
do is create a schedule we can use each day, for example:
Monday, June 1, 2004
Company A, unit e

I'm currently putting together a database for my work (not an expert by
any stretch, so muddling through as best as I can... you know the
story...) and I could use some advice and hand-holding
I've got a subform with a series of cascading combo boxes (thanks to
the Access tutorials on fontstuff.com) that let the user assign
categories to items, in this case photos. This is being done to help
constrain user selections and keep the...

Hi Everyone.
I've been having a little touble with a form I'm working on. (I'm a MS Access hobbiest). I've set up the cascading combo boxes, which is working, (I took the code from Microsoft) on a single item form.
However as the form I need is a of tabular type, every time I update cbo1 to a value, the non matching cbo1's cbo2 field blanks out. The data remains as but is hidden, and not what I need.
The data is all linked to bound...

I have a main form (RD Form) with 4 combo boxes (i.e. cbo1, cbo2, etc)
and a subdatasheet (the subform...let's call it subInfo) below the

boxes on the RD Form. I hope this eliminates any confusion of the

Hi,
I know there are various answers to this problem available on the web but none of them seem to work for me. I am using Access 2003 to make a form to look up data from a table. I have so far created three combo boxes that cascade down from Name to Project to Date and when this has been chosen I have four textbox fields I want to display based on this selection. I tried linking the last combo box comboDate to update these fields after...

You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
