VB import text file for comparison

Hello. I'm trying to open a file for comparison to two (2) input box text values. ie:
txtPassword.tex t + ";" + txtUsername.tex t must equal whats in a line in the UNPW (username password) text file locally saved.

Here's what I have for saving the text file using the preferred format:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. Dim FN As Long
  2. FN = FreeFile
  3. Open "C:\Documents and Settings\Adam.Martin\Desktop\UNPW.txt" For Output As FN
  4. Print #FN, txtUsername.Text + ";" + txtPassword.Text
  5. Close FN
  6.
and here's the other coding I have so far for the comparison:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. Dim UNPW As String
  2. Dim y As String
  3. Open "C:\Documents and Settings\Adam.Martin\Desktop\UNPW.txt" For Input As 1
  4. Do Until EOF(1)
  5. y = InStr(1, 1, txtUsername.tezt + "&" + txtPassword.Text)
  6. If txtUsername.Text + "&" + txtPassword.Text = y Then
  7. Unload Me
  8. frmWelcome.Show
  9. Else
  10. Unload Me
  11. frmUnauthorized.Show
  12. End If
  13. End Sub
  14.
Anybody have an idea how I can finish this up?

Access 2K, SP3 on Windows 2K, SP4 All, I have an import spec set up with quoted Identifiers and comma-separated values. The text file is produced by a 3rd-party program of which I have no control. It outputs all text fields surrounded by quotes, and all numeric fields w/o quotes. All fields are separated with commas. This has been working for 2 years, until today, when one of the data fields

I've been trying to use the Access Import Wizard to expedite importing data into my mdb. The nice thing about the wizard is that I can import from different file formats - txt, xls, even Outlook - and dump everything into a table. The problem is once I have the data imported into a new table, I can't do much with it. If I try to run an Append query and insert data from the new table into an existing table, the query fails - "Error...

Hello All, Excellent info here Thanks! I am very new to using access in general and I am on a learning curve. I'm trying to import an excel workbook (with worksheets) into an access db via a macro. (I'll get to using VB later on). What I would like to do is import a single workbook w/three seperate worksheets into three seperate access tables AND truncate the time stamp that is used in the excell sheet via a macro.

Hi, I have a MS access database table for which I regularly need to import fixed width text data. At present I have to to cut and paste the text data from its source to a text file, save the file, import the text file as fixed width text , and then run an update query to copy the appropriate info into fields of a different table. Is it possible to write a macro to do all these steps? Also, is it

I'm using PHPMyAdmin on an Apache2Triad install (latest version; 5.x.x, which installs PHP5 and PHPMyAdmin 2.8 as well). In Access, I exported a table to a text file, tab-delimited, text qualifyer of "none" (this is how I read to do it from newsgroups). When I use the Query window in phpmyadmin to import the text file, it waits a while, then returns an error: #1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that...

Hi. I have programmed in C++ before, but I`m a couple of years out of practice. I am seeking some advice on getting started on a quickie project. . . . I have to read a 54MB text file and do a pairwise comparison among 2500 items or so in the file. Each of those items have to be compared to every other item. Many of the comparison will only require comparing one field of the items. I will probably sort on this field before I do the...

I'm using Python for what is becoming a sizeable project and I'm already running into problems organizing code and importing packages. I feel like the Python package system, in particular the isomorphism between filesystem and namespace, doesn't seem very well suited for big projects. However, I might not really understand the Pythonic way. I'm not sure if I have a specific question here, just a general plea for advice. 1) Namespace....

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
