VB Express 2008 Publish Application Install Folder

13 New Member
I am trying to use VB's Publish feature to make the application install via a exe file .
I have a database mdf file in my project on my local drive but when it installs from the exe is does not install to the local drive so it cant find the mdf files and just shows errors.

How can i get it to install all the files to the same folder as it is on my drive - tried changing the installation folder on publish but it will not acept a path like c:\folder .

Got a question, and can't find it on the internet... Might be just a silly question by the way... With VB.Net express I have created a quitte complex libary that I have to have installed, however it seems that there is not a setup project availlable in the express version... Is this true, and if so, how do I install the libarary and application on a server or for that matter any other machine?

I've tried to publish my VB Express 2005 application to a web site. The publish process completes successfully, and I can fire up the ..../publish.htm page from the web site with no problem. There is a button on the install page hyperlinked to ....Myapp.application When I click on that button, the browser simply displays the XML content of Myapp.application and the installation effort stops there. Any throughts?

I thought there was some type of deployment project template I had to use, but there are no templates with the program and when I click on "Online Templates", nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong. I used the "publish" feature, but all of my external audio files weren't included and installed

I'm trying to learn how to deploy a program so I've written a very basic windows application (lets call it TWinApp1) with just a couple of buttons and a text box. It is very simple and runs fine in the debugger. Using TWinApp1 I'm trying to learn how to create a setup program to install an application on a system....

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
