Got a question, and can't find it on the internet...
Might be just a silly question by the way...
With VB.Net express I have created a quitte complex
libary that I have to have installed, however it seems that
there is not a setup project availlable in the express version...
Is this true, and if so, how do I install the libarary and application
on a server or for that matter any other machine?

I am trying to publish my VB6.0 app using the MS article "Automatically
Updatng Visual Basic 6 Applications: Part I, By Scott Swigart.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/default.aspx?pull=/library/en-us/dnvs05/html/AutoUpdatVB6apps.asp
I am configured as recommended in the article (VB 6.0, VB 2005 Exp.,
..NET Framework 2.0 on XP Pro.)
And it works just fine on my local system.
The problem is when I publish to my remote website.

I've tried to publish my VB Express 2005 application to a web site.
The publish process completes successfully, and I can fire up the ..../publish.htm page from the web site with no problem. There is a button on the install page hyperlinked to ....Myapp.application When I click on that button, the browser simply displays the XML content of Myapp.application and the installation effort stops there.
Any throughts?

Hi,
I am developing a windows application in VS.NET 2005. The application is
database driven and I need to deploy it on a client's pc. How should I go
about developing such an application. I remember I did something once long
back .. like including .mdf files into my project in the solution explorer of
VS 2005 and then used Click Once deployment tool ... to make sure that the
database and tables were created when the client installed my...

Hey guys, I've tried and tried to find a walk thru that works. Since I am using VS C# 2008 express, i am using clickonce deployment. I am targeting the 2.0 framework as I am not using any 3.5 features.
Here is my issue and questions:
1) I have a c# program that I would like to publish to my website (it does NOT have front page extensions, nor do I plan to use them). Should I publish to a file path and then copy the files over to my...

How do I deploy a project created with VB Express 2008? I thought there was
some type of deployment project template I had to use, but there are no
templates with the program and when I click on "Online Templates", nothing
happens.
Am I doing something wrong.
I used the "publish" feature, but all of my external audio files weren't

Sorry for the newbie question but I'm trying to learn Visual Studio. I've
got VS Express 2008 and I'm using visual basic. I'm trying to learn how to
deploy a program so I've written a very basic windows application (lets call
it TWinApp1) with just a couple of buttons and a text box. It is very
simple and runs fine in the debugger. Using TWinApp1 I'm trying to learn
how to create a setup program to install an application on a system....

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
