Hello,
Im grabbing tables via VB code using visual foxpro ODBC drives.
The tables directory is in a mapped network drive. The code works fine
and does the job, however if the computer is idle for a while the
network drive apears to have a red X on the icon and the drive becomes
disconnected. this seems to effect the VB code from grabbing the...

Hi
How can i look for network share folders and copy a text file to it? I've
been looking into how i can do this in the documention but with no luck. I
found a little on of the web but i dont understand it, it seems to import
mpr.dll and make the use of c++ calls. Can this be just done by c#?
If so how?

Hi
I was wondering if someone can please enlighten me as to the best and most
approved way to connect and disconnect network drives in vb.net.
I have been using Mpr.dll API calls such as WNetCancelConnection2 and
WNetAddConnection2, but these seem to be very flakey with drive
disconnection (The drive conenction seems to be pretty good).

I use the below code to get the Network Places items. However, this requires
"Late Binding". I read that you can avoid late binding by adding a reference
to the Com Types in your application. Does anyone know what reference to add
and what to import?
Dim drives() As String
Dim ob As Object = CreateObject("WScript.Network")
Dim odrives...

I have tried to use the IWshRuntimeLibrary and
ManagementObjectSearcher("SELECT * FROM Win32_LogicalDisk") to get all
Logical Drives, Mapped Network Drives, Shared Folders and Shared Drives with
limited Success because there is a bug apparently in using IWshRuntimeLibrary.
There must be some API calls to get this information since Windows...

When I get a list of drives using the Directory.GetLogicalDrives(), it gives
me all drives including disconnected network drives. When I attempt to use
Directory.GetDirectories() on a disconnected drive, the GetDirectories Method

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
