How to hide the preview control in Crystal Reports 10

284 Contributor
I am using Crystal Reports 10. While viewing report at runtime there is a preview control at the top and it takes about 1 inch of the screen, showing nothing but white space. We can reduce its size manually, but how to hide it and what is the use of it?

Back in the old days (pre-.NET) when Crystal wasn't bundled in VS, you'd develop a report in the Crystal IDE and you could flip back and forth between design and preview mode. I played with it in VS.NET and came to the conclusion it's no longer available (If so, that's a big step backward IMHO). Anyway, so be it if it is. But I was talking to some guy in the bookstore the other day and he said he does it all the time. I wasn't sure if...

Has anyone figured out a way to print a Crystal Report in ASP.NET in code? What I would like is to have the user click a button on another page, have my ..Net program generate the report and pull up the Print Dialog Box (just as if the user had clicked on the Print button in the Crystal Viewer Toolbar). I'm using the ActiveX print control with Crystal 11 for printing.

Hi, I am a Crystal Reports user shifted to visual studio for creating crystal reports. In Crystal reports we can check the view options in the layout tab in order to see guidelines in the design. Can anybody help me to do that in Visual Studio 2005? Thank you. AB

I'm trying to write a label printing SDI app with a small preview on the main form itself. Every time I run the InvalidatePreview event on the preview control to redraw the preview I get the "Generating Previews" dialog box while the preview is being generated. I want to suppress this. I've been able to find this from another forum: "The 'Generating Previews' dialog is shown while calculating the layout for pages in OnPaint(). One of our...

Hi - Is it possible to hide the detail section of a report at run time? I have a report that prints all details, with summary lines. The user would like the report ALSO with just summary lines. It seems the simplest thing is to run the code (see below) once with the detail section showing, and a second time hiding the detail section. I can't figure out the code to do that and don't see it posted.

Hi, I am new to Crystal Reports.NET. I am creating some reports (rpt files) for a project and I have set the design time datasource to an XML file which contains some test information too. Now when I preview the report in VS2005, instead of showing my test data, it shows some other information such as color names and etc. Does anyone have an idea why it is so? Thanks in advance.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
