I'm trying to learn how to save changes in my BindingSource. What is Me.Validate()? And do I need it everytime I do save the bindingsource?

Is this correct?

me.validate() '<-- What is this for?
bs.endedit()
if not me.adapter.upda te(datatable) > 0 then
msgbox("no records updated.") '<-- When does it not update?
end if

Oh btw, my database is in mysql and my program has...

1. dataadapter
2. datatable
3. bindingsource
4. datagridview

I noticed...

1. dataadapter has update method
2. datatable has acceptchanges method
3. bindingsource, update method
4. datagridview also has update method

So for example I typed a new row entry in my datagridview considering allowusertoaddr ows = true, which of the updates enumerated above must I place in code to successfully update the mysql database?

Howdy, I'm using a WYSIWYG editor called TinyMCE. When I edit some text and then save it back to my SQL server using a SQLCommand, all HTML characters are changed to HTML code, i.e. &gt;strong&lt; instead of <strong> and so on. Is this a problem with the editor or something else? Does .Net convert it? I had to disable page validate request because of the tags, is there more? Thanks,

The data access layer below returns, well, a mess as you can see on the last line of this posting. What is the best way to return customer objects via a datareader from the data layer into my view and bind them to a datagrid using BindingList. I am in need of an epiphany here. Thank you. -Greg ******************BIND ARRAY OF CUSTOMER OBJECTS TO DATAGRID ************************ private Customer c; c =...

Hi, I have two c# Winforms. the first form has a datagridview who's datasource is a bindingsource. when you double click on a datagridview row it then opens my second form, which has some databound controls, text boxes that are bound to another bindingsource. Both bindingsources are bound to the same dataset, and contain the same information. Within my second forms Load method I fill my dataset that is bound to my bindingsource with...

I have successfully bound an XmlDocument to a DataGridView but all fields seem to be strings. I want to retrofit appropriate datatypes on some of the fields. Let me take this in 2 parts. Part I: I found the ValueType field, leading me to believe that I could say dataGridView.Columns.ValueType = typeof(Double); dataGridView.Columns.ValueType = typeof(Integer); etc.

Good day to all! I was trying to search the internet about this problem but I still can't seem to stumble upon an answer. I am using a BindingSource on my program and everything is ok except that the users can edit any record they want before saving them all in one click. Well, this is fine when doing common saves. But, in my program, I have placed validations for each particular fields. When I add or edit a record then save, the...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
