Problem with throttle control of joystick (zPos) VB6.0

1 New Member
Hi all,
Please help me to get the throttle control of joystick (zPos) using VB6.0. I got other information about buttons and joystick position using JoyInformation function in "Winmm.dll" . Please tell me how to get zPos (throttle ) and slider control of the joystick.

Hello everyone: I am new to Visual Basic and I have a problem that I cannot put my finger on. I am working on a school project and I am getting some serial data from a microprocessor. I have designed my "Do" loop to wait for each data set coming in at intervals of about 1/2 a second from the microprocessor. When I comment the following lines: bufferVar = ""

I am new to C#/.NET/DirectX, and could not find a simple example of how to read the X/Y location of the joystick. < YIKES!!! The DirectX.DirectInput is one serious pile of API! > After some futzing around, I came up with the following - which seems to work just fine. I'm looking for a sanity check here, is this a good way to access the joystick? Yeah, yeah, I only look for the first joystick, and there is some hardcoded silliness in...

Hello, do anybody know if there exist a component, which emulate a physical joystick? And the component be able to configured (add axis, buttons...) through ActiveX or DotNet... Background, why I look after such comonent is, about the defined DirectInput interface other applications should be able to get data from my application (interprocess communication). Hi, I've been looking at autohotkey to do some different usability hacks for windows http://www.autohotkey.com/ one of the benefits of this language is it allows one to catch keyboard usage, joystick usage, and mouse usage inputs very easily at a global level or at application levels by watching applications for events within the applications. I was wondering if there were any python libraries that provided

I have a large file which has to be downloaded from a user using the Internet Explorer. The problem is that when someone downloads this file, the server slows down and the other users can not see the web pages from the server because there is not available bandwidth. Is there any way to decrease the download speed of this file by reading pieces of the file and manually send each piece every 100 milliseconds in order to control the speed of...

Hello, I'm implementig a C# app in which I need to access to a Joystick. Nowadays I'm using the DirectInput class for getting the actual joystick position, but trhough polling. I would like to do it through event, i.e., when you move the joystick, it send to the app an event or message which you can hand with a handler. The old joystick API has been superseded by DirectInput, and I have read

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
