Hi,
I created a COM AddIn for Word that performs the functions
that it needs to, but I needed to add the ability for the
toolbar created by the COM AddIn to remember it's last
position and whether it was docked or not. I added the
following code to my "OnConnection" function but it fails
with an error, "Run-time exception thrown :
System.IO.IOException - Bad file name or number."
With applicationObject.CommandBars("SampleToolbar")

An article at http://news.com.com/2100-1012-991694.html?tag=fd_top states:
"XML would allow easier interchange of data generated in
Office documents with back-end systems or existing Web services."
As part of an Access 2000 application, I have to continually parse Word
documents and store the parsings in Access tables using Automation to
control Word and parse the document. Is there a way that XML would help with
that?
Thanks.

My company just upgraded from Access 97 to Access 2003 today and we are
having some issues in a database that generates a Word document from
information selected in a form.
Here is the code we were using without issue previous to the switch:
'Start Word and create a new doc from the template
Set objWord = CreateObject("Word.Basic")
objWord.AppMaximize "Microsoft Word", 1
objWord.FileNew Template:=StrTemplPath & "letter.dot"

Our developers have experienced a problem with updating Web References in
Visual Studio.NET 2003.
Normally, when a web service class (.asmx) is created, updating the Web
Reference will utilise the disco file to update the
Corresponding proxy file and reflect the changes made to the web service.
However, the results of doing this with out params is that the results seem

I am updating a VB4.0 quote generation program to VB.net. The old
program takes user inputs, performs calculations, saves the data to
Access databases and uses Crystal Reports 5.0 to generate a quote. A
while back users obviously wanted to be able to edit/e-mail the quote
(these ancient Cyrstal 5.0 reports don't allow PDF creation) so I
modified the old VB4.0 code to allow users to save the Crystal Report
as Word document which they can...

I need to locate a particular table in a document. I cannot hardcode the table number since it could be different in every doc.
I do have some header text that comes right before it consistently, though. So, I tried to find that text, and then move to the next table.
Then I need to add a row to the table which already has 4 columns. I need to maintain the old content of the table too.
I think I am pretty close, but having a little trouble...

I'm developing an addin for Word 2007 and I need to determine whether a user
saves a Word 2007 document in an older format (97-2003) after a save as is
done. The scenario is that the user starts out with a Word 2007 document,
saves that document to disk, then saves the same document in an older format
If the user saves a doc in an older format, I want to turn off certain
features of my add-in. I'm able to trap the save event easily...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
