I'm not sure it is still available. After all, it's something like ten years old. Why not use an up-to-date version? I love (and use) VB6, but these I always recommend people download the latest version from MS.

I'm curious - is the free download a limited version? I've always assumed it would be.

No. If you go to http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/downloads/ and download the free Express edition, it'll give you everything you really need, including the Basic IDE environment, ability to create console and GUI applications, etc... The Professional edition is used mostly for commercial companies, and it's expensive, but you won't really need it.

I am building the application using Visual Basic .Net in Visual Studio.NET 2003. Lately, I have frequently been getting the following...

I have browsed to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003\Vc7\include and have found the file there. What can be wrong? I have also tried to uninstall...

I cannot create new Web applications in Visual Studio .NET 2003. I get this error message: "Visual Studio .NET cannot create or open the application. The likeliest problem is that required components are not installed on the local Web server. Run Visual Studio .NET setup and add the Web Development commponent." So I ran the Visual Studio .NET setup and added the Web Development component...and get the same problem. The thing is that...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
