need VB codes

8 New Member
Hello

i'm using 'Access database' and VB 6.0. My database is named ' timesheet' and it contains a table named 'tabletimesheet '. The table contain the following fields: 'staffname, stafftype, date, projectname, projectcode and hoursworked' . On my VB 6.0 form, i have got a ' list Box' containing the 'type of staff', for example 'engineer, manager or secretary'. I have got another 'list Box' containing the 'name of projects' . Also i have got 2 textboxes into which the user will type the 'Start date' and in the other textbox, the user will type the 'End date'. The system i'm developing should then find the total number of hours worked from the 'start date' to the 'end date' for the item selected in the 'type of staff' List Box and for the item selected in the 'name of project' List Box. For example, if i choose 'engineer' in the first List Box, i choose 'project aaa' in my second List Box, i enter '4/5/06' as 'Start date' and '10/9/06' as 'End Date', then the 'sum of the hours worked' by the 'engineer' on 'project aaa' from '4/5/06' to '10/9/06' should be calculated and be displayed in a textbox. What are the codes for connecting to the database and to do the calculations. Please, give me step by step the codes to make this work out.

Thanks

Hi, All: We have a network management system written in C++, MysQL, and Hp SNMP. It works in Solaris command line. When I wrote a similar python codes which call compiled C++ and mysql codes in solaris command line, the comipled codes work fine in wraped python file. When I change the python codes to web interface in python CGI script, I got message that "Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock'" How can I...

Hi, I remembered reading a MSc thesis about compiling Perl to Java bytecodes (as in java class files). At least, it seems that someone had compiled scheme to java class files quite successfully. I'm wondering if something of such had been attempted in python, as in compiling X language into .pyc. I do not understand the schematics of .pyc files but I assume that they are the so called python bytecode files. Or is there any...

I keep trying to get myself out of the return-code mindset, but it doesn't seem to work. They are suppose to get rid of if-then statements of return codes, but you still have to do an if statement once the code leaves your control (3rd party libraries, OS functions, etc) to throw an exception? Does anyone have any good suggestions on a book or website that deals with exception handling that could help turn this poor mind off of return...

Approximately once a month, a client of ours sends us a bunch of comma-delimited text files which I have to clean up and then import into their MS SQL database. All last week, I was using a Cold Fusion script to upload the cleaned up files and then import the records they contained into the database, though obviously, the process took friggin' forever, and could have been done 500x quicker had I done it directly on the server. My SQL...

I am working on device that utilizes a Motorola 68HC16 microcontroller. I am using an old unsupported piece of crap Whitesmith's / Intermetrics / Tasking compiler. The embedded compiler business was quite insestual for while wasn't it? I need to write putchar so that printf can function properly. Anyway, the compiler comes with just a shell of a putchar routine. It literally returns the character you passed to it and nothing else. That is...

we are trying to standardize return codes across our .NET applications (that are soon to be developed.) What is the best practice for standardizing return codes? I know of only the following option. Creating a class library that will contain the return codes (which will be static strings). Calling the return codes from this library across different applications. Please let me know if you have implemented return codes in

Hi, I would like to have someone comments on what's the best practice defining error codes in C. Here's what I think: solution A: using enum pros: type safe. better for debug (some debugger will show the name not only the value) cons: enum can not be forward declared which makes all error codes

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
