how can i have my program as for credentials

1 New Member
I have built a program that uses ultr@vnc for my work. how can i have the program ask for credentials (either run as local user or as "Administrator" ) but not "require" administrator logon? I want my program to start up ask for credentials, if local user do A, if Administrator do B. I have all the code except for the run as window.

On a side question how can I have a button that will start the "Run..." window?

I have an application written for mod_perl and Apache that needs to be able to send some XML queries to a WebMethods server for access to corporate systems. I have been attempting to use LWP to POST my XML query to the target WebMethods server and find I only get 401s (authorization errors) from the WebMethods server when it is configured for username/password authentication. If credentials are turned off on the WM server, I can get my...

I am getting this error when I try to run a program in my cgi-bin directory (don't know what I'm still missing to make it work): *** Authentication required! This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the URL "/~group3/cgi-bin/ack.cgi". You either supplied the wrong credentials (e.g., bad password), or your browser doesn't understand how to supply the credentials required.

I was planning to use the XMLDocument and XMLResolver objects like below: xmlResolver.Credentials = CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials xmlDoc = New XmlDocument xmlDoc.XmlResolver = xmlResolver

I have been working with encryption. And it seems to me that the IV and Key are the only things you need to decrypt my data. I can obfuscate, but my program still needs to 'call' the framework objects in System.Security.Cryptography. And this call can be searched for. Then using a program like SoftIce or Heapwalker they can examine the object and its properties (namely the IV and Key). Having that they can break my encryption. Am...

Hi, I'm writing this off the top of my head as I don't have the exact information to hand. We are attempting to set up a secure internet site using ASP.NET on IIS5. We are having some authentication problems early on in the project. The plan is to have 1 ASP.NET (IIS) forms application serving user requests and another ASP.NET (IIS) webservice interfacing to the database.

I am using DownloadFile() on a C# web app to download a file to a client. When I set the WebClient credentials to the DefaultCredentials, I get a 401 Unauthorized exception. WebClient myWC = new WebClient(); myWC.Credentials = CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials; myWC.DownloadFile(myRemoteUri, myFile); However, when I set the credentials using a username and password it works.

I want to known if it is possible to pass the Credentials (user and pass basicly) from one user I has validated in my intranet to another aplication (for example to an object who can accept credentials objects, like a Proxy object). Take care, the user isnt the same than the windows user, it is one validated (with windows validation from Active Directory) in the intranet.

Hello, I've been trying to create a WCF SOAP Router Service that can forward not just the message body but also any security headers set by the originator of the message. The destination service I'm routing messages to uses WSHttpBinding, SSL with UserName/Password client credentials. Using guidance from the Technology samples I can create a router that forwards messages without security credentils but not with them. Can anybody point me...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
