Visual Basic 6.0 MSDN help Files

I recently had to reinstall visual basic 6.0. I also reinstalled
the msdn files that came with vb6.

When I need to search for an item in help, I type the keyword
into the text box on the index tab. If I double click any of the
possible results that are returned, a dialog box is displayed
with the message Please Insert the cd-rom disc labeled
"MSDN VS 6.0 CD2" into drive E.

Previously, I did not have to have the msdn cd in the drive
to access the vb help system.
How can I get the help files on to my system??

Thanks,
DW

I had a similar experience. When I ran the installer, I realized that there
is a custom install that allow you to pick the components to install. I
picked all the VB stuff but didn't pick the Visual C.

Try re-installing, custom, and pick all the components you need (providing
you have sufficient disk space).

Re-install the MSDN Library, but this time do a FULL install, that will put
all the files on your hard drive so you don't need to insert the CD, can
take up to about 80Meg of hard drive space though.

What version of MSDN do you have? I have October 2000 edition, and it
takes 1.3GB for a full install.

I installed Visual Studio Version 6.0 with Visual Basic and Visual C++ etc. When I tried to invoke Help in Visual BASIC, it said that I should install MSDN. I installed MSDN using the MSDN library CDs. Now I can look at the Visual BASIC documentation (although after several many searches and clicks), I still cannot invoke "Help" from within Visual BASIC. Can some one help me out here? How to do that?

I used to have Visual Basic .net std. 2003 installed on WinXP SP1A. But I found it too hard to upgrade WinXP to SP2. Now, I do have WinXP SP2 installed, but I am having problems installing Visual Basic .net standard 2003. Not installing Visual Basic at the WinXP SP1A level - was the only way I found that I could install WinXPSP2. My computer was purchased with WinXP SP1 Professional. I also have Norton Internet Security and Norton...

I'm currently experiencing a strange phenomenon: At my Office, Visual Studio takes a very long time to compile our solution (more than 1 minute for the first project). At home, Visual Studio compiles the same solution much faster (about 10 seconds for the first project). My home computer is only marginally faster than the one I have at the office (P4 2.53 vs. P4 2.4, same amount of RAM). On the slow machine, the CPU usage is very low,...

I purchased Visual Basic .NET Deluxe Learning edition, version 2003. When I got to step 3 of the installation, the installer couldn't find the help files on any of the included discs, and so does not install any help whatsoever. The text of the accompanying book, instruct the reader to browse the help files several times, which cannot be installed and do not exist.

I have had to move to Visual Studio.NET Pro. from Visual Basic 4.0 and am now starting to re-write our code. I was a bit surprised to find that Visual Basic.NET no longer supports fixed length strings, which is a pain as we use our own database format with specific, user-defined data types and random access files. An example module content would be Option Explici Type Record Operation As String * 4 unit As String * 2 Marker1 As String *...

Hi all, I am experiencing a strange thing happening with a "designer.vb" page. Controls I manually declare in this page are automatically deleted after I drop another control on a ".aspx" page. - Why is this happening? - Can I disable automatic declaration and have everything be declared manually? - Any other options to fix this? Thanks in advance. Goran Djuranovic

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
