ErrorProvider and Nullable(Of Date) bound textbox

VS2005 Pro

I'm binding to a custom business object with type Nullable(of date) and
trying to validate user input.

I have an error provider connected to the binding object which is connected
to a BindingList(of ...).

On the user form I have a textbox that is connected to "Date_ETA" field
which can be blank. I also do a validity check to see that the date >=
Today. My validity check works as expected, however a blank date does not.

When I have a date in this field and try to change to a blank, i.e. no date,
and tab off the textbox, I get the ErrorProvider stepping in with an error
of "String was not recoginzed as a valid DateTime" message.

How can I get the ErrorProvider to accept a blank date which is allowed for
a Nullable(of Date)?

TIA,

Rick
