I've been seeing a number of group mentions that VB.net is getting fewer new
books than C#, and I've always been annoyed that GDI+ books completely
ignore the Fatal Exception that lurks in DrawImage so I killed two birds
with one stone - I wrote an eBook "Custom Controls and GDI+ for Intermediate
VB Developers"
It may not be great, but it does think out a number of design options and
ends up with a completely re-usable and really useful imaging tool. Like
most books the source code will probably just be cut & pasted but if you get
a tough code review then the details in the text will completely answer all
questions.
And, that unhandleable .Net fatal exception is handled (in pages 10 & 11).
I've paid for far worse... you can have it for free so there's nothing to
lose. :)
Juts go to http://www.smithvoice.com and click the top item in the "New to
the sitelett" section.
(Are there other 'writers' doing something about the number of VB.Net books
instead of deciding to give up?)
All the best.
