SetROP2 and Rectangle

I am using SetROP2 to set the mix mode of a window's rectangle as
R2_NOT and rectangle to draw a box around the window in inverse color.
My problem is determining whether the current state of the window is
normal or inversed. (If the window is "boxed", the my program will
take a specified action, if not the box will disappear). I can
accomplish this easily if the window remains visible, but if it is
minimized or hidden by another window, the box disappears and I need my
program to know its disappeared when it checks the next time).

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Alex
