My firewall (OutPost) just started giving me this block
message when my VB. Net form uses my FTP class code to
download some files from the internet. A few minutes ago
everything was fine but now my program get's blocked by a
another program trying to write to my program's memory.
This is the block message:
--------------------------------
Network access for MyVBProgram.EXE was blocked because
its memory was modified by another process.
Process wrote to memory DEVENV.EXE
--------------------------------
I guess that Devenv.exe (the program accused of writing
to the memory of MyVBProgram.EXE) has something to do
with the Visual Studio IDE. So I recompiled in Release
mode and tried running MyVBProgram.EXE outside of Visual
Studio with the same resulting block from my firewall.
Has some sneaky virus found me out and attached itself to
my code via the Visual Studio program Devenv.exe? I
certainly don't want to propagate such a virus to the
rest of my users.
Can someone give me a sanity check? Is DEVENV.EXE a part
of the Visual Studio? And should it be writing to my
VB .Net form memory space?
