Hi group,
I was making a sample and then I did got a problem.
(I never made a dataset with a bytearray in it for directwriting to disk
without a database).
I got errors and as usual I did not look to the error message and it took
more time than I did want.
ds.Tables(0).Columns(0).DataType =System.Type.GetType("System.Byte[]")
The subject is the descripiton from the bytearray as Byte[]
I found it when I did look good to the errormessage.
Is this VB.net?
Before it happens that someone thinks that I do not understand it and wants
to explain me.
That is not my question I full understand why.

Cor,
Did you get a compile error or a runtime error?
Which version of .NET?
Can you give a "complete" code snippet that identifies the problem?
Hope this helps

Hi Mr. Harlow,
Maybe you have never seen a message from me before in this newsgroup, but I
have posted before to this newsgroups.
I did ask about an opinion about the use for [] as needed in this syntax I
did give in VB.net
Just to match that with my own opinion. Should this be seen as a bug, an
error in the documentation, and something Microsoft should be attend on to
fix that in future.
All code is inside in the message.

System.Byte[] is the right syntax. http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en...dtypenames.asp

Hi Armin,
That was I looking for, makes it all clear, I could not find it.
With this you can say it is consequent.

Thanks a lot.

Cor, Maybe you have never seen a message from me before in this newsgroup, but
I have posted before to this newsgroups.
I hope you will agree the above statement is totally uncalled for!
The reason I was asking, is the code you did post compiles under VS.NET
2003, however I did not run it, as there really is not enough to actually
run.
Hence I was asking if you were having a compile error or a runtime error.
As Armin stated, you need to use the [] as you are dealing with a Framework
method and Framework methods tend to follow C# syntax.
All code is inside in the message.
As Jon Skeet would say: "Short but complete programs" http://www.yoda.arachsys.com/csharp/complete.html
Hope this helps
