I am using ADODC control to populate a screen in an application which is multi-user via terminal server. Ocasionally the users are getting a run time error.
Run-Time Error "-2147217811" 80040E31 : Automation Erro
First of all the application seems 'frozen' and the above error will initially show up on one users screen and then on anyone else who is in the same screen at the time. Anyone not in that screen can after about 30 mins carry on fine and if those users affected come out and back in again they are OK after a while
What is causing this ? When it is happening SQL shows locks Sch-S (schema locks) but the query is simply a select query from multiple tables. Is it the object connecting from loads of different TS sessions that is the problem (i am using the same SQL username to connect each time) ? What is the best way to handle database reads/writes when using Terminal Services
