Dear All
I am developing a web site in VS 2002 using VB.NET and ASP.NET which
uses a client side ActiveX control in the web-browser to perform tasks
such as determining what MS Office products are installed and then
posting the data back to the server formatted in XML and using the
MSXML2.XMLHTTP30 library to post the data. All this works well. I am
now developing a VB6 program which the user can download to perform
these functions if the user's security permissions do not allow the
ActiveX control to load or run. The problem I have is that when the VB
program has been downloaded, it needs to be opened so that it can run
and then when it has performed its duties it needs to instruct the
users web-browser (or the server somehow) to move the users
web-browser to the next screen. This could be done by sending a click
event to a button on the users web-browser from the VB program, or by
posting the same command that clicking the button manually would do,
if that is possible. I do not know myself how to do this.
I have successfully implemented the download of the file using
Response.Writefile, the user has the option of doing a download which
is not really desired however as long as the user runs the file, then
all is well as long as the web page can then automatically navigate to
the next web-page.
Can anyone help me? Many thanks, Michael Bredbury.
