Hello Friends

I am a beginner In project development and I started my career by vb.net. I have some hand on vb,HTML,XML,Java Script, Vb Script, ASP & C++. n now working on an ERP Project In vb.net.

Could u please help me by answering my few questions.......


Q:1. Could we define Tool Tip globally in our project and use it on the all forms.(thoughh coding specifically).

Q:2. Is it better to set properties of controles at design time or by coding???( Data connection is ofcourse better by coding!!! right! what u say! Whats the best way of data connection in vb.net+Sql Server 2000).

Q:3.which of the following simple codes will take more memory to run , so which is the better programming practice???

1. dim a as Ineteger
a=textbox1.text
if a.lenght<>2
msgBox("Valid User")
End if

OR

2. if len(textbox1.text)<>2
msgBox("Valid User")


I think 2nd one would occupy less memory,but please make me sure does these kind of small things count n programming?? this is just an example, if u can make me cleare declaring less variable should be aim of a good programmer???

Q:4. How can we display "Current Date & Time " on Status Bar in Vb.Net?? & how we can set it for servers's time?

Q5:How to show message in status bar on selection of a Menu item???
