How to program Infrared Port

Hi all,

I wish to program the Infrared port to communicate with another computer.
I don't know how.

Can someone help me please.

From MSDN
The recommended approach to programming IrDA applications is through the
Windows Sockets API. Legacy versions of Microsoft Windows used the
serialized IrCOMM
programming method, which is not supported in Windows 2000 or Windows XP,
nor is it the recommended approach. So a part of IrCOMM programming exposed
through the windows socket APIs are supported in windows 2000 and XP.
