Connecting to a remote form

63 New Member
Hi,

I've been using several search terms, but couldn't find the answer. Maybe it is there and I havent looked good enough.

I have a small program to which people can login to. All login info is stored in a simple html page. I manually add the info to that page.

I want to make a 2nd program, that is able to see who is currently logged in into the program. If I click Refresh, I want to let a list fill with all the Usernames currently logged in.

I don't have a clue where to start. I'm guessing making a remote connection between two IP adresses, but if the client programs dont know the IP to connect to, and the host program doesnt know the IP's belonging to the Usernames, Im lost.

Im not sure if what I want is possible, and also secure.
Any help is deeply appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Use a web server to log the Login info of the user,

suppose when Client1 logs in the website,

then when he logins, he will send the request to the web server and web server will log the info,

by seeing the log you will be able to get the information about currently logged in users.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply, but I'm still confused.

I only know very little of VB2005, and also webservers.
Would this method require any PHP ? Where do I start ?

I have been thinking about using a hidden forum somewhere, and adding login info to that. Then when they log into the program, they automaticly log into the forum too. Is that what you mean ?

Thanks in advance,

We are running DB2 UDB 8.1.6 in a partitioned environment where we have 8 physical nodes. We have a process that remotely connects to each individual node and loads some data. By setting the DB2NODE variable to a different value then the coordinator node is the only way I am aware for a remote application to do this so I am making the assumption that is how this application connects. What I am more interested in is that after logging...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
