ReadLine needs twice Return Hit after Console.TreatCo ntrolCAsInput = true;

Hi,

i am not a friend of crossposting, but this is a exception here.
Either i dont get it or whatever, can someone tell me, why
the Console.ReadLin e() needs twice Enter hit, after the
Console.TreatCo ntrolCAsInput = true; has been set and
how can i avoid this with Console.TreatCo ntrolCAsInput = true;
leaving the TreatControlCAs Input as "true",..

Why does this break its behaviour,...?

Regards

Kerem

I'm trying to create a GUI wrapper for dumpbin, and so I'm using the Process class to run the command-line application. The problem is that if I use Readline() to get the output from the commandline app, it will hang when it comes to the command-prompt (there's no return to send it to readline). Here's the code: public bool RunCommands(string cmds, ArrayList files) {

Hello All, These days I am working on a console application that will register for certain events and do some processing based on the event notification. Now, all the objects are being created in main(). Once the main exists the program ends. Here is what I want to do.

I thought I understood how the SaveViewState is working and was trying to use this (as per some code I found) to detect refreshes. It seemed to be working but I found that the SaveViewState was executing twice on load of page and can't figure out why. I was writing out to a text file in the SaveViewState event and it was writing it twice everytime a page was loaded (whether on an initial load of the page or Postback). I took out the...

Hi, I'm running a command line process from my C# application trying to catch the output messages from the process into a textbox in my windows form. But the text doesn't update (the ReadLine doesn't return) until the process exits??? Any help is highly appreciated! The code is like this: Process myProcess = new Process(); myProcess.StartInfo.FileName = Application.StartupPath + "\\myCmdLine.exe";

Hi, I've a question on setting timeout on console.readline() I would like the user to input something through Console.readline() in 5 secs. If there is no input in that time, I would like to proceed further with the program logic. I had a difficulty in implementing this, as console.readline() indefinitely waits for the user input.

Hi All, i am too tired now to find this out by my own, but why does my while loop "while(readline==Console.ReadLine())" needs twice return hit to read the line, after setting "Console.TreatControlCAsInput = true". How can i make it work like it would be set to "false", so that i only must hit the return once to get the input,... TIA

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
