On each workstation there's a front end, when the front end opens it checks
a 'version number' held in a table of properties against the version number
in a copy of the front end held on the server. If it's the same it opens
normally. If not it shells out to an UpdateClient.mdb and quits. The
UpdateClient.mdb overwrites the FE on the workstation with the one on the
server. But I was getting an access error (70, I think). Presuming that the...

Based on MK's TSI_SOON (http://www.trigeminal.com/)I've created a
nifty little procedure that - whenever you compact you db you get an
incremental backup copy.
Given that you have a table with version information you get
incremental backups on a per-version basis.
SEE CODE BELOW
Basic idea is: start TSISOON with the options:
1. "compact this db"

In a multi-user environment, I have a table that stores hyperlinks to
documents that are stored on the machine that hosts the mdb database. The
table entry looks like this:
ProductDescription.htm#file:\\DBHOST\C$\Documents and
Settings\Administrator\My
Documents\Products\Documents\ProductDescription.htm
Having the hyperlink in this format allows the document to be opened by
anyone on the local area network.

The following function intends to delete "numberoflines" lines from a text
file, named "s" (string pointer) and pointed to by file pointer "fp", starting
from line "line".
Now, the function works an inteded, but I think that this is purely
coincidential.
I'm using a temp file to copy the contents of the text file, and then, copy
the last lines that i want to keep, on top of those i want to delete.I fwrite
an EOF character after the...

Where can I find XP version of FILECOPY.AVI, to use in a dialog?
There is a movie called FILECOPY.AVI which is included with Visual
Studio 2005, but it is the 16 bit (Windows 95) version. There are a
few other videos in the same directory that look like the 32 bit
versions.
My question is: Where can I find a 32 bit (XP style) version of this
video? I know it exists because if I copy files in XP, I get a
different animation, with...

I have a friend doing some pro-bono work for a non-profit that does
job training for distressed kids under DCSS care. He asked me for
code to do the following (he's using A2003).
I can't find code in searches or on the MVP and tool sites I visited -
though I might not understand that there is code that just needs
adaptation. ALL help is appreciated.
He wants a routine (that I'd put into a module) to do the following:

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
