Re: Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 174942 "File Modified Outside Source Editor" Warning Message I believe I have discovered a cause of this warning in a specific situation. I encountered this message while using Microsoft Visual C++ .NET. The message box appears after the "Build Solution" command is complete, following editing of a source file using the native .NET editor.

Hello all, Once windows mmi programming was very easy - vb forms.. nice & easy. nowdays, our customers have became IE freaks !!! So, my question is, what is the best way to develop mmi in the ".Net" environment, over an intranet / lan environment. the first alternative is "Asp.Net".. though Microsoft is trying to push it very hard, to me the idea seems to be very wrong. I think that client code should be seperated from server code....

Hi there, I am trying to make a collection that will work in the "Object collection editor" dialog. I have implimeneted ICollection, IList and IEnumerable and now I have an "unnamed" collection, so the collection just contains "objects". I would like it to contain my own objects "myItem" so that I can edit the individual properties via the dialog but when I change the types in the class from object to "myItem" it breaks the interface...

Hey everyone, I have a textbox in my web page that is going to be used to enter an E-mail into (just plain text, no HTML). Now, this will interact with a SQL database where the contents of the textbox are sent from the SQL database to the textbox, then the user edits it, and then the text inside the textbox is sent back to the SQL database. I did it the same way as if i had used a VarChar instead of a type "text" variable in the SQL...

I'm using VS2005 and am getting messages that my files have been modified outside of the source editor. I'm working with a web project, data sources, and a web service. Things I'm noticing that are different than VS2003 are that the auto-generated code for the web service is stored in some temporary filename rather than displayed in collapsible form along with the rest of my web service code. Further, it's usually these temporary...

Disappointing me extremely, with the "generate python" function within Resource Editor, I only get a segment of python code which load xrc(xml format) file, rather than real python code in which I could append my own code. Does that mean RE(Resource Editor) is of little use? I hope not, maybe the way I use it is wrong? Tell me please.

I have a unique ASP.NET authentication system that I'm developing wherein my ASP.NET application has to access a certain file on the user's computer...sort of. I've been researching ActiveX controls and have developed a VB6 ActiveX that is able to do the job. But... I'm having issues with the lack of security on this object and would like to develop this in VB.NET instead. I've followed a bunch of examples on how to do this ...they...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
