Hi there,
For some reason the property panel in the Visual Studio .NET 2005 -
Visual Basic form designer is not showing the properties for any controls.
It just remains blank. It's only doing it for 1 solution that I am using,
but that is one solution too many at the moment. Any ideas on how i can
wake it back up again??
Nick. 3 872
I found the problem. A control I had was in a recursive Invalidate loop.
Nick.

Nick,
Next time I will warn you if I *see* that in your program.

Hi,
I am setting the NumericUpDown .Value property and the ValueChanged event
is NOT being fired. Does this ONLY get fired when I change it on the UI and
not programatically?
Thanks

Is there a way that I can repair MS Internet Explorer? I seem to have
broken it somewhere. I have been developing a .NET app. Three days ago I
saw a message box in a web site that I visit saying "Syntax error; Line 14".
I cleared that (hit button not to debug) and then the another message box
popped up on a mouse over event that said a "Runtime error has occurred.
Line 85: Object expected." I looked at the source and line 85 contained a...

Hi All,
I have the following control hierarchy dynamically generated on the
server:
A number of hierarical checkbox controls are added to a Placeholder
control. Placeholder control then added to a Panel control.
All controls are server controls. When a checkbox is clicked, in
javascript, I alter the innerHTML property of the Placeholder (and thus

A Panel does not have a caption, and so doesn't really need a Text property.
Yet, it does have this property. Furthermore, on-line MSDN says it is
'overridden'. The 'detail' of this also just says it's overridden with no
other information about it. Does this mean it allows reference to it, but it
does nothing?
In any case, it is good that it does have this property, since I wrote a
RadioButton 'holder' with GroupBox and needed to create...

Hi, all! Using VB as code-behind in asp.net page...
I have a TABLE control which I'm building dynamically. After the table is
built, I'm trying to retrieve the HEIGHT property of that table
(table.height.value) to be able to dynamically position the next elements on
the form. However, this control property is coming back as -0- every time.
I also try to get the table height with Javascript after-the-fact
(table.style.height), but that...

I just wanted a little practice with the WebBrowser control, so I did
the VB guided tour example here in C#:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/a08t4ke7(VS.80).aspx
The tutorial asks to put a Panel with a Button and TextBox in it, and
a WebBrowser below it. Then, it sets the Panel's Dock property to be
Top. It sets the WebBroswer's Dock property to be Fill.
But, the WebBrowser then fills the entire form! Even though the
Panel's...

If I create a UserControl that inherits from, say, Panel, and I do not want
my UserControl to have a property that it inherits from Panel. How can I
remove it.
For example, I might not want by control to have a BackColor property even
though it inherited that property from Panel.
Thanks

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
