I have a WSE server app that uses the <cryptography> element in the
configuration (seen below). This worked perfectly in WSE sp1, but when I
upgraded to SP2 and then to SP3, I get the following soap fault from any WSE
web service call. I know there is not a problem with the config file, it
worked in sp1 and it is correct according to the sp3 documentation. What is
happening here?
System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHeaderException:...

We currently have an application running on .NET 1.1. It hashes certain
data using System.Security.Cryptography.SHA1Managed class. It has worked
out fine until we upgraded the app to .NET 2.0. SHA1Managed in 2.0 hashes
to a different stirng output when the input is exactly the same. Why would
this be the case? I thought the SHA1 algorithm is the same regardless of
the actual implementation. Here's my source code, which compiles file...

I am attempting to incorporate the ProctectedData wrapper for the DPAPI
in a VS.Net 2005 application, but the complier says that it does not
exist. I have included the System.Security.Cryptography namespace and
even tried calling it using the full name
System.Security.Cryptography.ProtectedData. When I use ObjectBrowser
to look at the System.Security.Cryptography namespace the ProtectedData
class is there.
I've tried creating a new...

Hi, everybody here.
I am implementing data encryption/decryption, and try to use
System.Security.Cryptography.TripleDESCryptoServiceProvider.
But I can not find it in MS Visual Studio when I wrote code like (C#)
using System.Security.Cryptography.TripleDESCryptoServiceProvider;
Under System.Security.Cryptography, only have X509Certificates.

Hi All,
Just had a question about the RSACryptoServiceProvider class. I'm kind of a
newbie at this.
In the following code at the end of the message, does the key get stored in
the User Profile key store in the OS? I'm assuming that if this is the case
then if I were to encrypt the file in one machine, it will not decrypt on
another as the key is stored in the OS. Am I right about that?

Hello,
I am trying to run a .NET 2.0 application that I developed and I am
getting the following error:
Key not valid for use in specified state
I am attempting to retrieve the X509Certificate2.PrivateKey as an XML
string via the ToXmlString() function and this error occurs. Below is
an example of the command line call that I used to make my test

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
