I have this:
<a class="pink_link" href="faq.html#q1">Go to question 1</a>
And the CSS is simply:
..pink_link {color: #fa61b7; font-weight: bold;}
So, I'm curious why my links are blue and not pink. All of my other
"pink_links" are pink, but they don't link to anchors on the same page.

I have a few questions about "scope" and "visibility," which seem like
two different things.
To me "visibility" of the name of a function or object is the actual
code that can use it in an actual program.
To me "scope" of the name of a function or object are the general rules
for the areas of a program that can through a declaration, have
"visibility."

Hi all,
I am reading "C: A Reference Manual" 4th ed and I get lost for the
"extern". It says that global object without specifying the
storage-class specifier will have "extern" as the default storage-class
specifier. My (little) C experience tells me that an object with
"extern" is to let the linker knows that the object is referencing the
object defined in somewhere, and this "somewhere" object does not have
the storage-class specifier...

Consider the following line of code (it's not important what it does):
resp.DocItem=Relations.SelectDocItems_BySearchString(req.SearchPhrase);
It turns out that this line is in error. The property 'DocItem' should be
'DocItems.' The problem is that instead of notifying me of where the problem
has occurred, the compiler just crashes with an "internal error" (see bottom
of this message). Now if I were to write:

Hi,
I have a compiling problem. Please take a look at the code below.
I have an application that is built upon three tiers: one data tier
(Foo.DataManager), one business tier (Foo.Kernel) and one web
presentation tier (Foo.WebFiles). The data tier shall only be
accessible thru the business tier so I do NOT want a reference to
the data tier in the presentation tier.
In the business tier I have a class with the name CategoryItem that...

I've got a third-party assembly dll containing an "internal" class with
some public methods I would very much like to use.
I understand the meaning and reason of setting the accessibility of the
class to internal. But is there any way, dirty or not, I could use this
class and its methods anyway?

Hi all!
I have a little(?) problem with external schema location...
I'm using xerces/xalan (C++) for doing some actions with some set of xml-files.
Some of these files must validating against schema, which location specify in config file ("external" schema). Other files must be validating against schema, which location specify in parsed xml file (via xsi:shemaLocation attribute, "internal" schema)
How can I switch between these ...

Hello,
I learned that there are five kinds of static objects, namely
1. global objects
2. object defined in namespace scope
3. object declared static instead classes
4. objects declared static inside functions (i.e. local static
objects)
5. objects declared at file scope.

I've tried following the simple instructions to be able to use MyServices
within C#...Add a project reference to Microsoft.VisualBasic.dll and add:
"using Microsoft.VisualBasic.MyServices;" to the code module. After that, I
expected to be able to use MyClock or MyComputerInfo, but none of the "My"
stuff appears in the intellisense. I've tried rebuilding (after adding the
reference and the using statement) and still no luck.
What am I...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
