Hi:
It used to be that when you wanted to prevent a user from accessing
information in a text or combo box, you would set the properties:
TextBox.Enabled=False
TextBox.Locked=True
This would display the information and retain the box's standard
format. Well now in my Access 2003 system, I am getting non-legacy

After setting the web control text box enable property to FALSE makes the
control to loose the data between round trip. I am making sure that the
property - EnableViewState = TRUE.
Same code when the text box Enable property set to TRUE retains the value.
Please advice.

Hello,
I'm hoping someone can help me out.
I was wondering if the Enabled property of a CheckBox or RadioButton
server control is stored in the ViewState. If not, is there some way
to to add this property to ViewState? If needed, I can give you more
info on exactly what I'm trying to do.
Thanks,

I have a timer on a form. It isn't firing at all. I know that the timer is
enabled, and that the interval is low (4000, which should be 4 seconds). To
ensure the timer wasn't being inadvertantly reset I put some extra code in
the subs that enable and disable the timer. They fire as expected.
To test this I added a second timer with a 1 second interval. The event for
this time would output the enabled status of the first timer and its...

If I have a combobox set enabled=false then by default it will have dark
grey text on a grey background. I want it to show as blue on white. I'm
trying code such as :
combobox.enabled=false
combobox.backcolor=color.white
combobox.forecolor=color.blue
This sets it to dark grey text on a white background.

Is there a way to disable a web form control (change the Enabled
property to false) without the control being dimmed out when it's
rendered? I have quite a few of them on the form and they are hard to
read when they are disabled .
Thanks,

Hi,
I have a usercontrol which contains multiple server controls like
textbox, radiobutton..., I have a public field in the usercontrol
"Enabled". What i want to do is when the usercontrol's "Enabled" is
set to false, set all its child controls "Enabled" to false. I know i
can set them one by one. But there should be a easy way to do it
like :
for(int i=0;i<myUserControl.Controls.Count;i++)

Hello,
I have a Form that contains some configuration information. One of the
settings is for SSL. There is a checkbox that I want to check to make 2
textboxes un-editable so that a user can type information into the
textboxes. If the SSL checkbox is unchecked the 2 textboxes should
become readonly again.
I have my event handler properly setup to listen for the
CheckStateChanged event. My debug print statement prints out information

I would like to show dark fonts (so that the text is readable and not greyed
out) in a text box, however, I do Not want the text box to be Enabled,
because I do not want the text box to ever have the focus. Can this be
accomplished ? It is looking like this cannot be done.
Thanks

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
