Hi, this is just plain strange. This is my code.
HttpWebRequest request = (HttpWebRequest)
WebRequest.Create("http://www.yahoo.com");
request.Method = "POST";
request.ContentType = "text/xml";
StreamWriter sw = new StreamWriter(request.GetRequestStream()); //error

I have a VB.NET serviced component (COM+), running on a lan, that
calls out to an external web service to place an order with a
supplier.
The problem machine is the middle tier (COM+) for our in house
applications, and also has a mail server to service a 100 stores
(don't ask me why, I don't like this either).
The call to the webservice works correctly on our test COM+ machine
but fails on the production machine with the above error. ...

Hi There,
I've generated a C# file from a wsdl file using wsdl.exe utility.
Then I created a console application and made a call to the method
generated, first I got the error:
"The request failed with HTTP status 407: Proxy Access Denied."
Then I added a proxy validating and proxy credentials and got this:

I have built a Windows Service that connects to Sql Server 2000 Reporting
Services via its Web Service interface for the purpose of generating reports.
Intermittently, calls made to the Web Service result in WebExceptions
indicating that the underlying connection was closed. We are running the
application on a box running W2k3 (no SP) and .NET 1.1 SP1.
I have seen a number of postings where people are having problems that
appear similar...

Hi!, I'm using WebRequest to post a URL. But, sometimes, this tell me the error
"The underlying connection was closed: A connection that was expected to be
kept alive was closed by the server.".
I don't know why!!. This worked perfect in .NET 1.1, but in .NET 2.0, I has
this behavior.
Thanks!

I have a ClickOnce application that uses web services. This works from every

I don't get the message so it's hard to debug that, but some of my
clients report that they get "The underlying connection was closed
unexpectedly" exception. According to this site (http://
www.dotnetspider.com/resources/2596-e-underlying-connection-was-closed-A-connection.aspx),
it's a bug of .NET 2.0, and the author suggests that we use
KeepAlive=false until Microsoft fixes it.
It seems like almost 5 years have passes since the...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
