Hi,
I have a Search input form which collects from the user a person's name. I
am using LIKE with a "%" suffix in the SQL so that the user does not have to
type in the full name. When they hit the Search button, a query is run to
search the Person table for a match. This produces a recordset (I am using
ADO).
If the RecordCount is zero, they get a No Match message.
If the RecordCount is 1, a DoCmd.OpenForm is performed to open the...

I have a vb.net datagrid bound to a dataview on a windows form. I want to
use the datagrid to display and filter a list of items, but since the data
is complex, I don't want the user to edit the item using the datagrid. I'd
like to have another form display when the user double clicks the desired
row in the datagrid, and have that form display details for the selected
datagrid row.
I'm having problems figuring out the best way to pass...

Hello all,
Form A & Form B
Form B opens when I click on a button from Form A. How do I setup Form
B so it will always let me insert new records. Because right know, when
I click on the button from Form A to Form B (onClickEvent), Form B will
open and show all the records that the table has. So I need to click on
the navigation button (buttom of the form) and insert a new record.

FormA = List of organization records bound to table
FormB = Tabbed form with details of organization and all other related entities, such as orders, contacts, invoices, (all as subforms bound to FormB on primary key)
FormC = Pop-up to add/edit/delete a record from one of the associated entities. For example, there is a pop-up to add a new contact record to an Org.
Current Behavior:
1. Open FormA and remains active
2. Double click on row...

Hello All,
(newbie)...I'm working on an Ordering app using the typical tables (customers, orders). I have a Search form to find existing customers prior to entering a new order. On the search form there's a combo control called 'custname' so that when a customer is located, the existing customer name is filled in and the account number goes into the Account control (from an autonumber field called CustomerID from Customer table). The rest of...

I have searched forever trying to solve a problem that simplifies recurring info inputs to my database
the basic structure is Orders tbl main form and pricing_tbl subform and third when orders have recurring pricing structure, query pricing history for location and product, then select appropriate costing method from filtered list. This historical data sheet (subform 2) would be optional method for populating costing.
I have run across...

Question for you. I'm doing something similar, only, instead of opening the
forms all at once, I'm opening them as needed. I have a main form with
multiple records; and then I have a pop-up form that the user opens with
button. The pop-up form contains one record relating to the current record
in the main form (but...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
